Contemporary and traditional bluegrass songs and original tunes by a father & son duo whose musical roots span four generations — featuring banjo player and vocalist Dan Whitener and mandolin player and vocalist Mark Whitener.

Under One Roof expertly captures the strong bluegrass tradition in which Dan was raised; in fact, songs on this album include not only the strong Tenor sound of Dan’s father, Mark, but also the sweet Alto harmonies of his mother, Sarah. The album offers both a personal twist on traditional tunes such as “I’ve Endured” and “Steel Rails” as well as original songs by Mark Whitener and a father/son arrangement of fiddle tunes with strong significance to the family titled “L.F. Whitener Medley.”
